It all started when Smash & Grab started his career at just 16, producing and selling mix tapes from UK & European raves, building it into a successful enterprise selling from the back of Record Mirror magazine. One of his hobbies at the time was electronics; he built small FM transmitters, even a 2 deck DJ console made out of an old book shelf and 2 belt drive turntables bought at the local car boot stall. He made the circuit boards, built the electronics, the mixer, the case, everything, completely from scratch.

After deciding to move to Australia to pursue a burgeoning DJ career, Smash & Grab went on to set up Australia’s first online record shop, whilst holding residencies at clubs and numerous private warehouse parties across the city. However despite loving everything Sydney had to offer, Smash & Grab missed the buzz of the London music scene so after four years he decided to return to London to set up his studio and pursue his career closer to home.

Continuing his DJ appearances around the UK & Australia, at Bestival, The Key & The Fridge, he went on to host a show on Passion FM (resident for 2 years on sat night show) and producing for Sony Playstation, before releasing 'Slam Dam' (under Bassline Monsters moniker.) This gained worldwide radio play on 73 stations from Russia to China, received 10/10 from DJs such as Graham Gold who said the track was 'Rocking!.’ The track was also featured on Los Angeles Hunnypot Radio & featured on the front cover CD in London’s Music Week magazine in association with the BPI & UKTI Sync mission to LA.

After remixing Kish Mauve’s ‘I’m in Love With a German Film Star’ for Rob da Bank, Sunday Best Records signed his next release ‘Mind if my friend joins in’ which also received rave reviews in UK music press IDJ, DJMag, Mixmag, DMC Update.

And now? Well, Smash & Grab’s new 4 track EP is due to be released on December 5th.

Smash & Grab’s sound is new & cutting edge - described by critics as a smash-up of genres, mixing elements of dubstep, DnB, Techno and House with massive basslines. Influences come from Chemical Brothers, Daft Punk, The Prodigy & Noisia.
